NETS-S 2. Communication and Collaboration
Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others.
Students:
a. Interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts, or others employing a variety of digital
environments and media.
b. Communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences using a variety of media and
formats.
c. Develop cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with learners of other cultures.
d. Contribute to project teams to produce original works or solve problems.
Students:

This artifacts shows how students can communicate information and ideas effectively to a variety of audiences using digital tools. These book reviews were written by students, recorded by students and Quick Response (QR) codes were created. QR Codes have unlimited possibilities in education. Students can do book reviews such as these and they QR codes can be attached to book or attached to a display is only one possibility for integration of QR codes. (see Resources Files for more creative ideas for QR codes).
Artifact: Photobabble Student Animal Reports
This artifacts shows how students can communicate information and ideas using digital tools. Students were selected by their homeroom teacher, after they had completed their research reports on animals. Students came to the lab and recorded the most interesting facts they learned about their animal to share with others.
Artifact: Student Collaboration on Animals

This artifact shows how 2nd graders were able to rotate from computer to computer and add to the list of facts they knew from prior knowledge about the animal on the screen. Students with no prior knowledge were able to make inferences based on the image on the document.
Student Artifact: Wanek-Classroom Blog
This artifact shows where students would be able to interact and publish their thoughts and creative works with peers and others. This platform can bring in interaction with their peers as wells as those outside the classroom setting. It is a place for sharing and learning with others as well as a place to communicate classroom information to others. (This artifact also meets the NETS-T 1,2,3,4)
